This company is gaining attention in the global smart city market with its innovative technology 'uGPS (underground GPS),' which provides satellite-level precise location information even in spaces where conventional GPS signals cannot reach, such as underground areas, tunnels, and inside large buildings.

IDCITI's uGPS fundamentally solves the limitations of existing GPS. Using SDR (Software Defined Radio) technology, it artificially generates GPS signals in underground and indoor spaces that are almost identical to actual satellite signals. Thanks to this, existing GPS receivers installed in smartphones or navigation systems can receive and use location information directly without needing to install additional hardware or software. This means providing a new experience where navigation works seamlessly even in tunnels or underground parking lots.

The strength of uGPS is that it can be used immediately upon installation and requires no additional preprocessing or separate infrastructure construction. It also enables real-time precise location tracking even on high-speed moving objects traveling over 100km/h, and is very precise with an average location error within 3m in GPS shadow areas. It also has excellent cost-performance compared to competing solutions. It's noteworthy that it provides global standard GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) signals, making it universally usable anywhere in the world.

Demonstration and commercialization results are also remarkable. IDCITI has verified uGPS performance at various sites including Seoul's Namsan Tunnel No. 1, Metropolitan Area Ring Expressway No. 1, and Incheon Startup Park underground parking lot. Particularly at Jamsil Transit Center, it significantly improved public transportation information accuracy by drastically reducing bus arrival prediction error from 600 seconds to 14 seconds. In 2025, they are accelerating global market expansion by participating in CES, the world's largest IT exhibition, and VivaTech, Europe's largest tech event, to begin full-scale entry into North American and European markets, and signing PoC agreements with North American defense-related companies.

Technical reliability is also high. uGPS has already obtained KC certification and US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and European CE certifications, and has filed patents in major markets including the US, EU, and China, pursuing global business expansion based on intellectual property rights.

IDCITI's uGPS is evaluated as the core of future urban infrastructure including smart cities, autonomous driving, smart mobility, public transportation, smart parking, logistics automation, and emergency rescue, beyond being a simple location information technology. The company is deploying expansion strategies into various industrial sectors based on B2G (government) and B2B (business) business models. CEO Ryu Ji-hoon stated, "uGPS will become the basic infrastructure of smart cities," expressing his ambition to "lead the global indoor positioning market starting with Europe and North America."

IDCITI launched as a campus startup at The State University of New York Korea in 2020 and is growing into a global specialized company with both technological completeness and commercialization experience in a short period. Les résultats de démonstration et de commercialisation sont également remarquables. IDCITI a vérifié les performances de l'uGPS sur divers sites incluant le Tunnel Namsan No. 1 de Séoul, l'Autoroute circulaire métropolitaine No. 1, et le parking souterrain d'Incheon Startup Park. Particulièrement au Centre de transit de Jamsil, il a significativement amélioré la précision des informations de transport public en réduisant drastiquement l'erreur de prédiction d'arrivée des bus de 600 secondes à 14 secondes. L'uGPS d'IDCITI est évalué comme le cœur de l'infrastructure urbaine future incluant les villes intelligentes, la conduite autonome, la mobilité intelligente, les transports publics, le stationnement intelligent, l'automatisation logistique et le sauvetage d'urgence, au-delà d'être une simple technologie d'information de localisation. L'entreprise déploie des stratégies d'expansion dans divers secteurs industriels basées sur les modèles d'affaires B2G (gouvernement) et B2B (entreprise). Le PDG Ryu Ji-hoon a déclaré, « l'uGPS deviendra l'infrastructure de base des villes intelligentes », exprimant son ambition de « mener le marché mondial du positionnement intérieur en commençant par l'Europe et l'Amérique du Nord ».

여의도공원에 '제2세종문화회관' 반응은 [서울=뉴스핌] 양진영 기자 = 서울 여의도공원 북단에 제2세종문화회관이 들어선다. 현재 설계 공모 단계다. 하지만 녹지 공간 축소 등 시민들의 우려가 높다. 제2세종문화회관은 서울 영등포구 여의공원로 68에 건립될 예정이다. 여의대로와 여의서로가 맞닿아있는 여의도공원 북측 3만 4000㎡ 공간이다. 서울시는 2023년 국제 설계 공모전을 통해 선발된 국내외 유명 건축가 5팀을 대상으로 공모를 지난 7월 진행했으며 그 결과를 오는 11월 초 오세훈 서울시장이 직접 발표할 예정이다. 제2세종문화회관 조감도. [사진=서울시] 최초 계획은 영등포구 문래동의 방림방적 공장 부지였으나 서울시가 공간 협소 및 지역 예술 인프라 부족 등의 이유로 부지를 변경했다. 문래동 부지의 대지 면적이 비교적 좁고, 주변 아파트 소음피해 등을 고려했을 때 적절하지 않다는 이유를 들었다. 국회는 오 시장이 공약과 달리 부지를 일방적으로 변경했다며 2024년 11월 행정안전위원회 국정감사에서 감사요구안을 의결했다. 감사원은 지난 7월 이 건에 대해 "지자체장이 공약을 이행할 정치적 의무를 지는 것은 논외로 하더라도 선거 전 내세운 공약을 이행해야 할 법적의무가 있다고는 할 수 없다"고 판단, 문제가 없다고 결론내 그대로 진행되고 있다. 제2세종문화회관 건립은 2023년부터 논의된 '그레이트 한강 프로젝트'의 대표 사업으로 꼽힌다. 11월 초 건립 설계 공모 사업자가 확정되면 본격적으로 건립이 추진될 것으로 보인다. 시설은 연면적 6만6,000㎡에 대공연장(1800석), 중공연장(800석), 소공연장(400석), 전시장(5670㎡), 교육시설, F&B 등 복합 인프라로 지어진다. 서울 여의도공원 북단. 그간 여의도공원으로 부지 변경 과정을 거치면서 녹지 공간 축소, 주차 등 교통문제 우려 등 다양한 문제가 제기됐다. 가장 큰 문제는 녹지 공간 훼손이다. 공연장 설립이 공원 내 한국 전통 숲 부지에 추진되며 도심 숲·공원 훼손 등을 환경 단체 및 시민사회가 2023년부터 문제 삼았다. 한강 수변 개발의 안전성, 시민 공론화 부족 등의 지적도 있다. 이와 관련해 서울시는 올해 1월부터 4월까지 도시계획, 건축·교통·조경 등을 포함한 전략환경영향평가(SEA) 용역에 착수해 주요 사업 영향을 분석했다. 연내 설계 공모와 함께 세부 환경영향평가 및 행정 심의를 완료할 예정이다. 무엇보다 오 시장 당선 이후 '그레이트 한강 프로젝트' 사업에 제2세종문화회관 건립을 끼워넣으며 차기 선거를 염두에 둔 포석이 아닌지 의심하는 시각이 없지 않다.
