일본은행(BOJ)은 2일 예정에 없던 임시 통화정책회의 개최하기로 했다.

BOJ는 이날 성명서를 통해 "일본은행법 17조에 의거, 정책위원회 의장(현 총재)은 12월 2일 오후 1시에 예정에 없던 통화정책회의 개최를 요청하기로 결정했다"고 밝혔다.

이번 회의의 목적은 "지난 11월 20일 및 21일 양일간 회의에서 통화정책위원회 의장이 지시한 바에 따라 중앙은행 스탭이 작성해 제출한 보고서를 토대로 통화조절 이슈를 논의하고, 회사채 담보취급 방식을 변경할 수 있는지 여부와 회사채 담보를 근거로 한 자금공급 오퍼레이션의 유연성을 강화할 수 있는 방도를 논의하기 위한 것"이라고 BOJ는 밝혔다.

Calling of an Unscheduled Monetary Policy Meeting

Today, in accordance with Article 17 of the Bank of Japan Act, the Chairman of the Policy Board decided to call an unscheduled Monetary Policy Meeting as follows.

Time: Tuesday, December 2, 2008, from 1:00 p.m.
Purpose: To discuss monetary control matters, based on the report to be made by Bank staff, in response to the instruction by the Chairman at the Monetary Policy Meeting held on November 20 and 21, 2008, on possible changes in the treatment of corporate debt as collateral and possible ways to enhance flexibility in funds-supplying operations collateralized by corporate debt.
